D-Link Powers The Cyberathlete® Extreme Winter Championships in Dallas, Texas
D-Link Ensures no Lag for Top Gamers
D-Link sponsored networking hardware to support the Cyberathlete® Extreme Winter Championships held at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, between December 15th-19th 2004. The Cyberathlete® Extreme Winter Championships is expected to attract over 1,000 gamers from 30 different countries. The exhibition halls span over 42,000 square feet and the BYOC area will accommodate about 600 computers.
D-Link is proud to provide the serious power needed for zero lag network connections for the Cyberathlete® Extreme Winter Championships to be used in four computer game tournaments with $160,000 in cash prizes, and the 550+ Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) area. In addition to hosting two gaming tournaments, the event will also host the first North American Qualifier for the $1,000,000 CPL World Tour. The World Tour competition game is Painkiller and the qualifier will offer $20,000 in cash prizes and $10,000 in air travel to the CPL World Tour's first $50,000 stop in Istanbul, Turkey. Other event attractions include an exhibition area, spectator arena, workshops, and more.
