D-Link Sponsors the World Cyber Games 2003

D-Link, a worldwide leader in manufacturing of networking, broadband and digital electronic technologies, sponsored the World Cyber Games 2003 USA Final being held in Irvine, California August 19-21, 2003 by providing the networking hardware to run the exciting event. The World Cyber Games USA Final will culminate in revealing the 17 members of Team USA, who will go on to represent the US at the WCG 2003 Grand Final in Korea. D-Link is providing DES-3226SM 24-port managed switches, delivering a high-speed backbone to ensure seamless connectivity for competitors throughout the 3-day USA finals event.

The official games are PC-based versions of: Age of Mythology, FIFA Soccer 2003, Half-Life: Counter-Strike, Star Craft: Brood War, Unreal Tournament 2003, and Warcraft III on the PC platform; as well as Halo on the Xbox.

WCG 2003, the 3rd World Cyber Games, will be a real world cultural festival of the largest scale. 55 countries are currently hosting preliminaries that will send approximately 600 representatives to the WCG 2003 Grand Final.
